About the event

A charity event in memory of Leon Murphy and a celebration of Leon, his love of music and the positive impact he made on lots of peoples lives. Several of these events have been held previously but none for quite a while now. Leon has posthumostly helped to raise thousands of pounds for charity and he continues to do so with these gigs along with all the bands who perform and all the people who attend. This gig will be in aid of Giddo's Gift, a charity that provide gifts or financial grants to teenagers and young adults suffering from Cancer living in North West England and North Wales. The chairty was started to honour the memory of Jordan Giddins who lost his brave battle with Ewings Sarcoma on 27th April 2017. There will also be £200 out of the funds donated to the E-Rooms in Skelmersdale which was Leon's pride and joy.

JOHN PLAYER SPECIALS are a punk/ska/reggae 7 piece with members from Manchester, Cumbria and Wigan who combine 'stick in yer head' brass lines and immense vocal churnings with an uptempo, guitar driven, highly danceable delivery. Up-tempo, angry reggae, ska fusion, dub-core!

BAMBOO RAMPAGE

PEARL HEART

SCURVY'S REVENGE a seven piece folk/punk band with members hailing from Wigan and Skelmersdale.

SERPICO a three piece raw, spacey, dirty, psychedelic, bluesy, grungy, rock n roll band from Skelmersdale.

CAVAN KELLY Influenced by his childhood in Southern Ireland and his teenage years in North West England has absorbed the style and views of folk through living and breathing within the working class culture. From an early age he was drawn in by the diddle. He started writing his own music at the age of 15, and not long after then he was drawn to the infamous DIY punk scene. His eyes were opened to the huge amount of genres that were infused with the views that were always inside him. His music has since been broadened and also refined to his own original style. His main focus is fingerstyle percussive guitar and passionate, melodic singing. Within this is now hard hitting ska strumming and also harmonic vocal and guitar looping not forgetting the underlying punk/folk feel.

Tickets: £4.00 (minimum donation) plus booking fee | OTD: £5.00 (minimum donation)
